CHARTER
A/K/A - The Court Jester
It only took less than 4 months to "CHIP" and adopt our Charter.
We adopted her through Greyhound Friends, Inc in Hopkinton, Massachusetts.
Charter had only been off the track for 2 days and dumped there with no records,
name or identity.
We first saw Charter cowering in the back corner of her crate with her back
to the door. She wanted only to be left alone.
Upon further inspection she had several scares, injuries and ticks. Charter
indeed was a heart breaking site
and knew we would not leave with out her. What we saw at the kennel only scratched
the surface of Charter's emotional pain.
Any movement over her head would result in her falling to the floor and putting
her paw over her snout.
The next two years have brought about physical and spiritual healing for Charter.
We saw development of a loving, playful and comical dog. While still slow
to initiate contact with strangers,
once you have earned her trust, you have a friend for life. The only residual
effects of her past life are
the occasional nightmares in which she screams.
