This page is dedicated to all the greyhound rescue workers who spend so much time in saving these wonderful dogs from a dire fate. Every year tens of thousands of racing greyhounds are destroyed simply because they are no longer making money. Ex-racing greyhounds make wonderful pets. Many racers have found loving homes, shared with children, adults and other pets. Below you will find several links to sites with information and greyhounds that are looking for their forever homes.
Because we were newly married and planning on having children, we needed a dog that was good with them. I had always been interested in the plight of the racing greyhounds... then we saw them with kids. We were hooked. In looking for a good family pet, be sure to work with your adoption agency, but most of these loving creatures adore children. Ours will sit for hours to be loved, and two of them enjoy playing tug-o-war and fetch (MaggieMae is too dignified to 'play', but will stand for anyone to pet her). All three of our Greyhounds and our Irish Wolfhound are very good with our daughter, Elizabeth, age 1.

Duncan loves his little girl too..All of our dogs are all small animal safe
(meaning they peacefully co-exist with a cat, and at times guinea pigs, rabbits
and a chinchilla). All of them love children. Each has their own personality
